The Shelly RGBW Controller is EOL (End of Life). New and available alternative is the Shelly Plus RGBW PM dimmer
Switch, dim, or change the color of your LED strip or LED lights using your smartphone from anywhere in the world. Easily create smart scenes and set timers in the free app for your home automation. For example, automatically turn on your LED at sunset or create a "Movie Night" mood lighting scene. Voice control with Google Assistant, Siri, or Amazon Alexa is also possible; "Hey Google, turn on the living room LED."
Consider ordering a power adapter at the same time.
The Shelly RGBW2 is a highly cost-effective and smart small WiFi LED controller for your Smart Home System. Due to its compact size, the module is easy to conceal or hide behind a cabinet, for example. The open-source nature allows you to integrate the Shelly RGBW2 with almost any home automation system. However, Shelly also offers its own free app, which allows you to set up a Smart Home System easily and inexpensively without the cost of a Gateway/Hub.
Also works with
* FIBARO Home Center 2 or 3 via a Virtual Device/Quick App
** Apple HomeKit requires flashing or a Homebridge
Install the Shelly RGBW according to the instructions, paying close attention to the different connection methods, connect via WiFi with the free Shelly App, and pair the Shelly LED controller. An AC switch is also included for installation behind the (wall) switch so you can also turn the module on/off and dim it with a switch (push button). This may require running additional wires.
The Shelly RGBW supports White, RGB, RGBW LED strips, and 12-24V LED lights, up to a total of 288W. The Shelly RGBW has a built-in ESP8266 with a 2MB flash chip, allowing you to flash your own or alternative firmware, such as Tasmota. For this, a USB-to-UART 3.3V and at least 350mA adapter is needed, like our FTDI adapter. And the best part is, you don't even need to open the Shelly. Flashing is done easily via the directly accessible pins on the outside.
NOTE: NEVER connect the Shelly RGBW to power while flashing!
If you prefer not to use the free Shelly cloud service but still want to control your devices remotely, no problem. The Shelly RGBW2 also supports basic MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for reliable connections via a central broker: the MQTT broker. The involved devices only communicate with the broker and do not know each other. Thus, they do not need to know each other's IP addresses or technical details. Safe and reliable, with real-time monitoring and easy integration.
