The Shelly Motion 2 is End of Life. Its successor is the Shelly BLU Motion.

The Shelly Motion 2 WiFi motion sensor truly completes your Smart Home System. For example, it can automatically turn on your lights when motion is detected or enhance your alarm system in combination with the Shelly Door-Window sensor. There is now also the Shelly BLU Motion sensor, which operates via Bluetooth, responds faster, and has a longer battery life.

The Shelly Motion 2 is a WiFi motion sensor with a rechargeable battery of 6500mAh, which lasts about 1 year on a full charge with normal use. New features include an integrated temperature sensor and up to 256 sensitivity levels to adjust the response to distance and movement according to your preferences. The sensor's response time is less than 200ms. Tamper protection (vibration) provides an immediate notification. The Lux sensor (light intensity) only works in conjunction with the Motion sensor for smart actions. For example, turn on your lights when it's dark and motion is detected.

The Shelly Motion 2 is the next-generation motion sensor, powered by Silicon Labs Wi-Fi IoT solutions, equipped with the world’s lowest power-consuming Wi-Fi device.

If you prefer not to use the free Shelly cloud service but still want to control your devices remotely, that's no problem. The Shelly Motion 2 WiFi Sensor also supports basic MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for reliable connections through a central broker: the MQTT broker. The involved devices communicate only with the broker and do not directly interact with each other. Therefore, they do not need to know each other's IP addresses or technical details. It is safe and reliable, with real-time monitoring and easy integration.
