With the new Shelly 2PM Gen3, you can now wirelessly control your lights, awnings, electric curtains, or shutters even faster using your smartphone, from anywhere in the world. Easily create smart scenes (scenarios) and set timers in the free app for your home automation. For example, automatically turn on your lights at sunset or close your shutters at 11:30 PM. Voice control with Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa is also possible; "Hey Google, turn on the table lamp".
Shelly 2PM Gen3, new, faster, and safer
The Shelly 2PM Gen3 now features the Shelly ESP-Shelly-C38F chip with 8MB memory. The 8MB allows for more memory for updates and potential future Matter Firmware updates. It also includes Bluetooth for easy connection to your home Wi-Fi, overheat protection, enhanced security with MQTT + SSL, MQTT combined with Cloud, and scripting. Additionally, the terminals (screw connections) have been improved and are now suitable for up to 2.5mm², which was often an issue with the older variant and the 2.5mm² wire behind the wall switch.
If you'd like to use BTHome for your Shelly BLU Bluetooth devices, such as the BLU Door-Window or Motion sensor, you’ll need a Shelly Gen3 or Shelly Pro. The Shelly Plus series, which can also act as Bluetooth gateways, do not support BTHome.
Note: Do you have shutters, electric (roller) curtains, or an awning with only a remote control? First, check the wiring and whether the required control wires (4-core, usually Green/Yellow, Blue, Brown, and Black) are available for connecting the Shelly 2PM Gen3. For example, a wireless Somfy RTS or IO system cannot be connected to a Shelly. If you have an older shutter system with high peak voltages, we recommend ordering and installing the RC-Snubber.
Also works with
* FIBARO Home Center 2, 3, or Lite via a Virtual Device/Quick App
** Apple HomeKit requires a MatterBridge or possibly a future Firmware update
If you prefer not to use the free Shelly cloud service but still want to control your devices remotely, no problem. Shelly 2PM Gen3 also supports basic MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for reliable connections via a central broker: the MQTT broker. The connected devices only communicate with the broker and are unaware of each other. Therefore, they do not need to know the IP addresses and technical details of the other participants. This ensures safety and reliability, with real-time monitoring and easy integration. Want to know more? Check out our Shelly WiFi Switch Blog.
