Control your lights or appliances wirelessly with your smartphone, from anywhere in the world. Easily create smart scenes (scenarios) and set timers in the free app for your home automation. For example, automatically turn on your lights at sunset or start your coffee machine at 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Voice control with Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa is also possible; "Hey Google, turn on the table lamp". There's also the small and affordable Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 8A/1840W.
Shelly 1 Gen3, new, faster, and safer
The Shelly 1 Gen3 now features the Shelly ESP-Shelly-C38F chip with 8MB of memory. The 8MB provides more storage for updates and a possible Matter Firmware update in the future. It also has Bluetooth for easy connection to your home WiFi, overheat protection, enhanced security with MQTT + SSL, MQTT combined with Cloud and scripting. Additionally, the terminals (screw connections) have been improved and are now suitable for up to 2.5mm², which was sometimes an issue with the old variant and the 2.5mm² wire behind the wall switch.
If you want to use BTHome for your Shelly BLU Bluetooth devices, such as the BLU Door-Window or Motion sensor, you will need a Shelly Gen3 or Shelly Pro. BTHome does not work via the Shelly Plus series, which can also function as a Bluetooth gateway.
Easily install the Shelly 1 Gen3 behind your wall switch, outlet, or near your device, and connect via Bluetooth or WiFi to add the Shelly Gen3 to the Shelly Smart Control App. Shelly has its own free app that allows you to set up a Smart Home System easily and affordably, without the cost of a Gateway/Hub. After that, you can also control the switch wirelessly with the app from anywhere in the world, include it in smart scenes (scenarios), and set timers, such as turning on your light at sunset. Voice control with Siri, Google Assistant, or Amazon Alexa is also possible. The open-source nature ensures that you can integrate Shelly 1 Gen3 with almost any home automation system.
For installation in the fuse box on a DIN-Rail, there is the Shelly PRO 1.
Consider ordering an RC Snubber as well. The Shelly RC Snubber is an energy-absorbing circuit that can be used to suppress voltage spikes caused by the inductive load of the circuit when a switch, electrical or mechanical, is opened. An inductive load (current lagging) is, for example, a coil. Coils are found in transformers, gas discharge fixtures (fluorescent lights), electric motors, and relays.
Also works with
* FIBARO Home Center 2, 3, or Lite via a Virtual Device/Quick App
** Apple HomeKit requires MatterBridge or possibly via a Firmware update in the future
Would you prefer not to use the free Shelly cloud service, but still want to control your devices remotely? No problem. Shelly 1 Gen3 also supports MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for reliable connections via a central broker: the MQTT broker. The involved devices only communicate with the broker and do not know each other. They do not need to know the IP addresses and technical details of the other participants. Safe and reliable, with real-time monitoring and easy integration. Want to know more? Read our Shelly WiFi Switch Blog.
