Wirelessly control your lights, sunshade, or roller shutter with your wall switch(es). Or use your wall switch to activate smart scenes and URL Actions in the free Shelly App for your home automation. Voice control with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa is also possible; "Hey Google, turn on the table lamp".
Shelly i4 Gen3, new, faster, better
The Shelly i4 Gen3 is a very affordable smart, small WiFi built-in switch for your Smart Home System, which can be installed behind your wall switches to wirelessly control other Shellies. The open-source nature allows you to integrate Shelly i4 with almost any home automation system. However, Shelly also offers its own free App, allowing you to easily and inexpensively set up a Smart Home System without the cost of a Gateway/Hub.
The Shelly i4 3rd generation smart switch features the new Shelly ESP-Shelly-C38F chip with 8MB of memory. The 8MB provides more memory for smooth updates and a potential Matter Firmware update in the future. It also includes Bluetooth for easy connection to your home WiFi, overheating protection, improved security with MQTT + SSL, MQTT with Cloud, and Java scripting. Additionally, the terminals (screw connections) have been improved and now support up to 2.5mm², which was sometimes an issue with the old version and the 2.5mm² wire behind the wall switch.
The Shelly i4 Gen3 supports 110-240VAC but has no outputs (no relay). The intention is for the Shelly i4 to wirelessly control other Shelly relays or smart plugs, with up to 4 inputs for 4 actions per button (when using a momentary switch), allowing for up to 16 functions;
- On/Off (toggle switch)
- On/Off short press (momentary switch)
- Long press (momentary switch)
- Double short press (momentary switch)
- Triple short press (momentary switch)
NOTE: The Shelly Plus i4 has no outputs, so you cannot directly connect a lamp or device to it.
Install Shelly i4 Gen3 according to the instructions, now even easier to add via Bluetooth, and connect via WiFi with the free Shelly Smart Control App. Link your Shelly i4 with other Shellies via Actions or Scenes. It couldn't be easier! Works perfectly in combination with, for example, the Gira 4-gang push-button base unit or the JUNG 4-gang Multi-push-button, or from another brand.
Also works with
* Apple HomeKit requires flashing (cannot be reversed) or a Homebridge
If you'd like to use BTHome for your Shelly BLU Bluetooth devices, such as the BLU Door-Window or Motion sensor, you will need a Shelly Gen3 or Shelly Pro. With the Shelly Plus series, which can also function as Bluetooth gateways, BTHome is not supported.
Prefer not to use the free Shelly cloud service, but still want to control your devices remotely? No problem. Shelly i4 Gen3 also supports basic MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for reliable connections via a central broker: the MQTT broker. The involved devices only communicate with the broker and do not know each other. They don't need to know the IP addresses or technical details of other participants. This ensures security and reliability, with real-time monitoring and easy integration. Want to know more? Read our Shelly WiFi Switch Blog.
