The Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 is a unique smart video doorbell with support for HomeKit. The video doorbell operates on batteries, wired, and in a combined mode. The Doorbell G4 is the first battery-powered doorbell that works with HomeKit Secure Video. Additionally, the doorbell supports streaming to Google and Alexa smart displays. Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4

The local AI facial recognition is the biggest advantage. The Doorbell G4 helps users identify who is at the door and will display the name of the registered face in the push notification. Facial recognition can also be used for various automations based on specific people. To use and link automation with other smart devices, an Aqara Zigbee hub is required. However, the AI function works even if the network is not connected to the internet.

This is the first battery-powered doorbell with HomeKit Secure Video. Video analysis, security, and notifications are handled through an Apple device, such as an iPad, iPhone, or Apple TV. All footage is encrypted before being stored in iCloud. HomeKit Secure Video requires a supported iCloud+ plan and a HomePod mini, HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad set up as a home hub. It is recommended to update to the latest software and operating system. Additionally, the doorbell can stream audio and video to Google and Alexa.

Batteries, wired, and 2-in-1: The versatile power options make the Smart Video Doorbell G4 very practical. The doorbell can be powered in three ways: batteries, wired, and combined. In the combined mode, the batteries serve as a backup power source. For example, when the doorbell is temporarily without power. The Doorbell G4 works for up to approximately 4 months on 6x AA batteries (included). Alternatively, you can power the Doorbell G4 with an external power supply of 12-24V AC (0.2A) or 8-24V DC (0.5A).

Free cloud- and local storage: With the Doorbell G4, you save money and have access to various storage options. The standard package includes 7 days of free cloud storage. This results in a yearly savings of around €60 on subscription costs. The Indoor Chime of the Doorbell G4 has a slot for a standard micro-SD card (not included), which provides added security. The maximum supported storage for the microSD card is 512GB. In the future, Aqara plans to support NAS storage.

On-Demand Video and Two-Way Audio: Answer the doorbell from anywhere in the world. View and speak live from your smartphone. When a visitor is at the door, you receive a push notification and can view and respond to the live video. The device has a wide viewing angle of 162° and 1080P HD video. The lens is made of glass for clear image quality. The doorbell is suitable for both cold and warm environments and has an IPX3 rating, meaning it is splash-resistant. The recommended installation is under a porch or other shaded area.

Included Indoor Chime: The Doorbell G4 comes standard with the WiFi Indoor Chime. The Indoor Chime provides the local connection between the Smart Video Doorbell and then connects to the internet. Thanks to the external Indoor Chime, the Doorbell G4 remains reachable on the local network even when there is no active internet connection. The Indoor Chime has an acoustic sound up to 95 dB. The Chime is powered with a USB Type-C cable and can also be powered via a power bank or mini-UPS as a backup battery.

The Doorbell G4 features a unique voice changer function. This allows users to change the doorbell audio to a senior voice, robot voice, or clown voice, which can better protect the privacy and identity of the user.

Do Not Disturb mode: Users can set a schedule for the ringing period and the doorbell volume. This is very practical when someone is at the door late in the evening.

Personalized ringtones: The Doorbell G4 supports users in uploading personalized ringtones as melodies for the doorbell and Indoor Chime. This allows you to automatically play a sound via the doorbell, for example, when a specific person is not home. If you want a 2nd doorbell chime, the Aqara Hub M1S Gen2 is an option.

Various status alarms: You can assign actions to different unwanted activities and alarm statuses. For example, when the doorbell is forcibly removed, the outdoor temperature is abnormally high or low, people stay in front of the door for too long, or when the battery voltage is low.

Privacy masking: Privacy protection can be set for up to 3 areas. After setting, the designated areas will be blocked in the live and video screens. This helps protect the privacy of your neighbors.
