Shelly 3EM WiFi Energiemeter

With the Shelly 3EM WiFi Energy Meter, you can easily and accurately monitor and record energy consumption wirelessly, for 3-phase or 3x 1-phase systems, such as your solar panels. Using the output relay, you can connect the Shelly 3EM to a Contactor and create smart switches in case of overload, preset consumption levels, or for example, through time schedules. Connect a 120A clamp to the neutral wire and monitor each phase for leakage or theft. The open-source nature ensures that you can integrate your Shelly 3EM with almost any home automation system. Shelly also offers a free app, allowing you to easily and affordably set up a smart home system without the cost of a gateway/hub.

Install Shelly 3EM according to the user manual, connect via WiFi with the free Shelly app, and pair the module. It couldn't be simpler! Optionally, a 120A clamp for the phase N clamp connection can be supplied. Handy for monitoring theft or leakage. See the Downloads section for the manual on how to calibrate this N-clamp.

The Shelly 3EM Energy Meter with Contactor relay switch supports 110-230VAC and features a built-in ESP8266 with 4MB flash chip. This allows you to flash your own or alternative firmware, such as Tasmota. However, this requires a USB-to-UART 3.3V and a minimum 350mA adapter, such as our FTDI adapter. The great thing is, you don't even need to open the Shelly. Flashing is easy via the pins accessible on the outside.
NOTE: Never connect the Shelly 3EM to the power grid while flashing!

If you prefer not to use the free Shelly cloud service but still want to control your devices remotely, no problem. Shelly 3EM also supports basic MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) for reliable connections through a central broker. The connected devices only communicate with the broker and do not know each other directly. Therefore, they don’t need to know the IP addresses or technical details of the other participants.
